This is the next book I'm going to read. I acquired the old version few months ago, and as soon as we finish this awful period, I'll start the reading.
Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba, aka O'Sensei.
It is the result of mixing up of religious beliefs, philosophy and other martial arts.
One of the most popular Aikido practitioners is Steven Seagal, who is a 7th-dan black belt.
O'Sensei defined Aikido as : Atemi and Irimi.
- Irimi:
Iri = to enter,
Mi= inside, like a baby girl in the uterus of her mother.
Iri+mi = Introduce our body "inside" the body of the attacker.
- Atemi:
In the old Budo it meant: To strike the vital points of the adversary to provoke injuries or the death
Nowadays a good definition could be: to dominate the will of the adversary.
The principles of aikido are:
- No resistance: Control and reduce aggressive impulses
- No fighting:: There's no need to fight it goes against the principles of
- No competition: Aikido learners co-operate with the others to improve their fortress and body condition.
- Relaxation: When the breathing makes your body and mind one you can control everything better.
- Flexibility: mental and corporal flexibility is acquired
- Breathing: Is the most important thing to learn, the essence of Aikido.
[Ka : inspiration ] + [ Mi : expiration] = KAMI
Any movement is accompanied by the body center and controlled by respiration.
That's a video I've found where Aikido is played in a real fight, isn't it useful?
This year I've had the chance to know this way of life, and I have to say I thought it was completely stupid at first.
However I've realized lots of things can be done if you put all your strength, flexibilily and mind power together. It's not just about knocking over the adversary (UKE) is about learning all things can be done if you canalize your energy of a correct way.
Antoni Gaudí i Cornet was born on the 25th June 1852, in Reus.
He was an architect which working style was the Modernisme.
I love his work, but I really love El temple expiatori de la Sagrada Famila and The Park Güell
El temple expiatori de la Sagrada Familia is a tribute to nature and Christianity.
The building was started in 1882 and today is still unfinished.
Gaudí didn't left any plan because he worked using wooden or plaster models. It increased the difficulty of the construction. Luckily since 1979 they're using 3D tecnology, and it speeds up the process of making a new part of the temple.
The building is kind of a rock Bible, the facades explain Jesus life: birth, death and resurrection.
14,000 people can be held in the temple and has around 4,500 square meters, it's a huge construction.
Park Güell, for me, is the master piece of Gaudí's constructions.
It is part of the UNESCO World's Heritage.
The park was built from 1900 to 1910, though since 1914 it was not inaugurated.
The Government wants to preserve the heritage value of the monument so they are trying to reduce the number of visitors.
This monument is the one which has more visits of Barcelona, and maybe in the whole country: 25.000 visitors a day.
The park has different important zones: the sea/snake bench, the dragon fountain, the Sala Hipóstila, the Calvary monument, and the Rosary path.
Time is a gift, is something you always have and something you always do need.
It's something you cannot buy or give as a present.
Time runs out fast for the people who are having fun and it takes delight watching the suffering of the people who are not in their best moment.
The only thing we can do with our time is deciding who we want to spent it with.
Whatever... let the people you love feel you love them, don't be mean: time is not gold, time is happiness.
Passion has several meanings: ardent love of affection, intense sexual love, the death of a Christian martyr... But I'm going to focus on a strong enthusiasm for a concept or object.
Music and basketball are my two passions.
When I was younger I used to play the piano and I also played basketball in a team.
But I was a kid and I was stupid and insure.
I was six years old, and all I wanted was going to the park with my friends and play there. Instead, what I did was go to an English academy, take ballet classes and play the piano.
I had very little time for playing with my friends and when I got older it wasn't different.
While my friends were playing in the street I was studying or taking classes.
Some Friday afternoons I were invited to a birthday party (or to a party in someone's house) but, I couldn't go because I had my piano lessons.
I got bored with this routine and I decided not to take more piano lessons anymore, I had to decide between piano and basketball and I choose the orange ball sport.
Two years ago my basketball team split up, our coach had an illness and we decided not to continue without him.
Now, I realized how stupid I was.
The piano is the mother of all the instruments, it's very versatile and warm.
I found two marvellous piano players, and I want you to know them, it is worth the time you spend listening to their fingers running up and down the black and white keys of the son of the clavichord.
If I could see you again (First Love) - Yiruma
Mozart Sonata in B flat Major, K.333, 3rd Movement- Lang Lang
My other passion, basketball, I don't have to introduce it to you. The only thing that makes me feel proud of my country (no offence) is our basketball team!
This is a Spanish website where people share series, movies and other videos. Series Yonkis
There are some people who translate into Spanish, American and British series.
That's a great way to seeing online series, or improving our English, having the subtitles in Spanish so as to compare what we've understood and what it says.
It's true that the translation is not always reliable, but they do it for free and we don't have to pay, so I guess it's fair play.
Unfortunately not every single video has different view options, you can see it in Spanish, in English with Spanish subtitles or in English with no subtitles.
The greatest thing would be having the chance to see them in English with English subtitles, but having this three options is better than nothing.
In this picture, I've found in ¡Cuánta Razón!, Danko I guess the most popular person related in dubbing films into Spanish in a non-professional aspect.
Thanks to you, to all the people who are behind this page, for making our entertaining such an easy task.
My chemical romance is one of my favourite groups.
I started following them when they released 'Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge' in 2004, which had four singles.
'Helena' and 'I'm not OK (I promise)' are the most popular songs of the CD.
Helena
It is told that this song talks about Way brothers grandmother. However, her real name was Elena.
This videoclip is amazing, it received lots of nominations for five MTV awards, but they didn't win any.
I cannot be objective because this is my favorite song.
I'm not OK (I promise)
This is also one of my favorite songs. It's lyrics are completely energyc, and I'll paste some thoughts that appear on the video, I love them.
If you ever felt alone, rejected, confused, lost, anxious, wrong, wronged, unclean, angry, ashamed, curious, used.
Be prepared to feel revenge. Feel the romance. ...The chemical romance.
This band's sound was different from the others', they didn't look for fans or money.
This CD is a masterpiece which talks about feelings. Sad feelings they needed to expel and in that way make us participants of their hurt so we could see there are people around us feeling the same way. And then making us conscius about how to behave.
A month ago they released their fourth album, and I'm going to see their performance in Barcelona.
I haven't heard it all already. I know their style has changed a little bit, but ten years from their formation, I think they must have evolved. And I'm glad about it.
I'm feeling very happy and excited! I just cannot wait to see them!
